Highlight:
Dumplings and a bath!
Challenge:
I set off this morning, like many days this week with no comfimed accommodation.I had put feelers out to the local Trail Angels. One moved, the others I hadn't heard back from yet. Plan B - There's a camp ground at Ambury Park and if I get further...Onehunga, Epsom theres a selection of accommodation providers. Plan C I can always bus, train, uber somewhere.
With not much I could do but make light of the situation, I walked.Once lunched, and tent dryed at Ambury @ 1pm I decided to keep moving with so much day light left. I gave a backpacker a call (a block off the trail), no answer. I tried calling a couple hours later, still no answer. So I then locked in my prefered (on the trail) motel.
I arrived to a beautiful clean, quite space. My gear was quickly spread around as I sorted washing, foot care and other trail admin (eating & hydrating).
Trail Angels comfirmed for the next two nights. Now I just have to walk the distance!
Learning:
It run's out a few km short for the regular commuter. There was a lot of pegs in the ground - maybe indicating the next phase, to connect the path to a destination.
