Highlight:

I walked the 1km to the café this morning, and following Trents lead had two meals. French toast and when they swapped to there lunch menu taco's.
Leisurey shower had as well. Not to clean mud or sweet, or warm up after a wet day. Just for something to do.

Challenge:

Ahipara, the town of many dogs. Some free range. Trent mentioned roudy dogs last night on the phone, I hadn't experienced to many barks on my walk through town, more so on the country road.
This morning tho, a black dog laying on the footpath did come at me. I responded, no stick in hand today.

Get down dog

The dog owner called it, and a passing vehicle slowed to be a physical barrier while it walked home.

Learning:

Trail life has opened me to making tho most of pasting encounters/people.
And the timing of me on trail now, means I expected to meet SOBO's as I approch the north. Two south bounders arrived into the Ahipapa café from Waipapakauri.

I joined these two strangers at their table outside, and talked tip culture, hitch hiking, navigation and excess gear. They were in good spirits and carring on to Kaitaia today.

The beach is good, when it doesn't suck

Before they headed off we exchanged names, Jeff (Canadian), Daniel (Nelson).
