Day 63: St. Arnaud zero

Highlight:

Buffet breakfast. I don't believe this is an everyday occurrence at the Apline Lodge, but it was on offer today due to a tour group in town.As thru hikers we said yes to this opportunity to refuel.

Challenge:

My wrist swelling after yesterday's wasps sting.

Learning:

The DOC vistor center is a hub of information; local history, pest control reaseach, and maps.It's well worth a vist if you're in the area.

Here's one information plaque, about the ever so common sandfly. It's only the females that bite, and they do so before they can lay their eggs.

When we stop at the end of the day, we quickly get changed into long pants with socks to reduce our exposure. Trent is normally on full alert for any in the tent or hut, and it's difficult to get his attention untill he is satisfied with the environment. Transition in or out of the tent are strategic, mininmizing the time the zipps are open.
