Highlight:

Swingbridges, as we took alot of photos of these today. The 6 wire bridges are rated for one person so while one of us cross the other has time to capture a picture or two.

Challenge:

Hitching.
Our first hitch took no time at all. While we walked out of town to a spot where the speed zone changes, a south bounder was successful in getting a ride. They stopped and collected us too.
This took us to SH7, where we were relying on right turning traffic out of Hanmer. Between us we debated the best spot to wait. After about a hour, closest to the intersection was successful.

Learning:

Legend says that pikirangi / misletoe was the last plant remaining in the kit of Tane....... He looked at it tenderly and said ''I cannot let my last child lie on the ground'', and that is why it is a parasitic plant perched high up on the big trees.
